Jennifer Baljko is an award-winning journalist specializing in business,
technology, travel and general interest stories and multimedia content.
Her work has appeared in numerous mainstream magazines, newspapers
and online publications including Islands, Metropolis, Skirt, The
Christian Science Monitor and Work.com, and in business trade publications
such as DSO.com, Electronics Supply & Manufacturing and IT Policy
Compliance. She recently contributed to Explorer Publishing's "Barcelona:
The Complete Residents' Guide" (Autumn 2007), and one of her
personal essays will be featured in "The Best Travel Writing
2008," an anthology published by Travelers' Tales / Solas House
(January 2008). Additionally, Jennifer provides writing and editing
services to corporate clients. Recent work has included ghostwritten
articles, company and executive profiles, marketing materials, Web
site content and white papers for clients in the consulting, non-profit,
property development and technology industries.
Previously, Jennifer was a reporter and editor at various trade
publications and daily newspapers, including Electronic Buyers'
News (EBN) and the Home News Tribune (New Jersey). Besides winning
recognition for several personal essays, she was the lead writer
on an EBN story that won the Jesse H. Neal Business Journalism Award.
Her newspaper articles have also earned awards from the New Jersey
Press Association and the Society of Professional Journalists.
Jennifer graduated from Rutgers University (New Jersey) with degrees
in journalism and political science. She has participated in several
advanced memoir and travel writing workshops, and completed a broadcast
journalism class at San Francisco's City College.
She is an avid traveler, hiker and runner. She completed three
marathons, and served as public relations/spirit captain for the
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's San Francisco Team In Training run
team.
She is temporarily based in Munich, Germany, but calls Barcelona,
Catalonia home.
